We aim to foster a vibrant AI community within Rollins College and the broader Central Florida region, where industry leaders can connect, share insights, and explore the latest AI trends shaping their sectors.

Another critical objective is to forge strategic partnerships with industry and international AI centers. Leveraging Dr. Liebowitz’s extensive network, Crummer will collaborate with organizations across industries, government, and nonprofits to discover and promote best practices in AI application.

Finally, AI-EDGE is committed to developing impactful educational programs and resources for students, executives, and the wider community. These offerings will provide valuable learning opportunities, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge to drive AI innovation within their organizations and elevate the technological capabilities of our community.

The Center for AI-EDGE will concentrate on three core areas: executive decision-making, governance, and execution. We will explore how AI can address decision-making challenges, develop best practices for AI governance, and guide organizations in integrating AI for competitive advantage.

Key activities at AI-EDGE include:

  • Educational Programs: Courses on AI for business innovation and executive boot camps.
  • Research and Thought Leadership: Publishing insights on AI trends and applications.
  • Industry Engagement: Hosting lectures, summits, and board/corporate membership meetings.
  • Community Outreach: Building partnerships with local businesses and international AI centers.

The Center will be supported by an advisory board of seasoned AI professionals and executives who will provide strategic guidance and insight.

Students will have the opportunity to join the newly formed AI student organization, RAISE (Rollins AI for Social, Economic, and Environmental Impact). This interdisciplinary group will unite undergraduate and graduate students from across Rollins, including Crummer and the Hamilton Holt School, to foster collaboration and equip future leaders to use AI responsibly and effectively.

Key focus areas include:

  • Societal Impact: Projects and discussions on how AI can improve social justice, healthcare, education, and overall quality of life.
  • Economic Impact: Exploring AI’s role in driving economic growth, innovation, and sustainable business practices.
  • Environmental Impact: Utilizing AI to address environmental challenges such as climate change, conservation, and sustainable resource management.
